ERIE – A 55-year business will open a new showroom in Erie, according to the town’s economic development head.

Paula Mehle, economic development coordinator for Erie confirmed Friday that Columbine Appliance and Fireplaces purchased a building at 1020 Carbon Ct. for just over $1 million in October.

The company employs 20 people, many of whom live in the Erie area, Mehle said. There are no initial plans to hire more employees, she said.
