Allegiant receives approval to operate bigger planes

LAS VEGAS – Allegiant (Nasdaq: ALGT) Airlines has received approval from
the Federal Aviation Administration to begin operating Boeing 757-200
aircraft capable of carrying up to 217 passengers.

Allegiant’s existing fleet consists of 51 MD-80 aircraft capable of
carrying up to 150 passengers and which are being reconfigured to hold
up to 166, according to Kristine Shattuck-Cooper, Allegiant
spokesperson.
