I Need a Sign – Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Here are ten signs it may be time to move on…

Your last review was three months late and no one has made a peep about pay increases. The last pay increase happened in 2008.

You have migraines or ulcers that you truly believe are directly related to the stress you are experiencing at work.

You have been put on a performance improvement plan.  This is just HR’s attempt to cover their bases before firing you. Run.

You asked for an ergonomic assessment of your workstation and were made to feel like the scum on a snail’s belly.

Your last paycheck bounced.

You are afraid to tell the honest truth during meetings.  You protect the status quo out of fear.

Professional development is non-existent. You asked to attend a webinar for $199 and your boss didn’t even respond to your email.

You are fairly certain that leadership lacks what it takes to move the company to the next level as evidenced by the fact that literally nothing has changed in a very long time.

The term open door policy refers to the fact that none of the bathroom stalls lock anymore and no one seems to care.

You would not buy what your company is selling.  If that is the case, run. Fast.
