Scales to be installed at landfill

LARIMER COUNTY – Traffic at the Larimer County Landfill will be diverted
around the shop building beginning Monday, Aug. 30, to allow for
installation of new vehicle scales required by the Environmental
Protection Agency.

Beginning Jan. 1, the EPA will require all landfills to report the
weight of trash dumped, and vehicles will be weighed as they enter and
exit on South Taft Hill Road. Larimer County will continue to charge per
cubic yard of trash dumped during and after the scales are installed,
according to officials with the county’s Solid Waste Department.
