Hall of fame seeks nominations

LONGMONT – The Boulder County Business Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its class of 2010.

Each year the hall identifies five to eight businesspeople who exemplify business, cultural and philanthropic initiatives that serve as the foundation of communities in Boulder County.

These people will be honored at an induction ceremony April 29 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Longmont.

Nomination forms can be obtained by contacting Fred Kreider at 303-229-3582.  Electronic copies of the form may be requested from [email protected].  Completed forms may be returned to [email protected] or by mail to the attention of Fred Kreider,  Boulder County Business Hall of Fame, 1850 Industrial Circle, P.O. Box 2081, Longmont, CO 80502. Deadline to submit nominations is Jan.15.  

“We are excited about this opportunity to honor business leaders who give back to their communities in Boulder County,´ said James Unger, president of the hall’s board of directors. “Our community leaders make Boulder County a very special place to work and live.”

The Boulder County Business Hall of Fame was established in 1992 to recognize and honor women and men who personify “business at its best.” Since 1992, 120-plus people have received this award.

Honorees in 2009 were William Boettcher, Lou DellaCava, Richard Herring, Jay Elowsky, Jerry Lee, Jerry W. Lewis and Jeff Schott.

In addition to honoring Boulder County businessmen and women, scholarships are awarded each year to Boulder County High School graduates attending University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business. Recipients this year are Jason Cashdollar, Joseph Goldstein, David L. Badias, Molly Bergseid, Scott Portnoy and Elena Yoshino.

The board is seeking sponsors to continue its mission and program of recognition. 

Board members include Unger, Ed Kanemoto, president-elect; Allison Closson, past-president; Ben Weir, secretary/treasurer; and board members Carol Deborski, Bruce Dierking, Bret Duston, Laura Folsom, Rob Lathrop, Dan Pirrallo, Ron Secrist, Wayne Varra and Chris Wood.
