Regional Center of Excellence receives $36.4 million for research

FORT COLLINS – The Rocky Mountain Regional Center of Excellence on the Colorado State University Foothills Campus has received a $36.4 million award from the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases to continue work on research on infectious diseases.

The RCE, a collaboration of research universities in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Montana and North and South Dakota, was established in 2005 with an initial grant of $40 million to fund its first four years.

“This continuation of funding is a testament to the quality of our faculty and the groundbreaking research that is taking place here at Colorado State through the Rocky Mountain Regional Center for Excellence,´ said Tony Frank, CSU interim president.
