NoCo room nights down last month

Northern Colorado was not as popular a destination during January as the rest of the state, according to the most recent Rocky Mountain Lodging Report.

The report includes data for the Northern Colorado communities of Fort Collins and Estes Park. Fort Collins lodging facilities reported 35.1 percent occupancy rate during January. During the month last year, the city experienced a 41 percent occupancy rate.

Estes Park’s occupancy rate in January was 18.7 percent – compared to 25.8 percent last year. Estes reported the lowest January occupancy rate for all of the locations detailed in the report.

The occupancy rate for lodging facilities statewide in January was 55.3 percent. Not surprisingly, ski resort towns reported the highest occupancy rates in January. Aspen lodging facilities were the most utilized, with an 85.9 percent occupancy rate.
