LONGMONT – Avey Portrait Studio, a family-owned photography studio run by Jerry and Donna Avey, is closing after 33 years.

The Aveys photographed families, children, high school seniors and pets. They completed 10,933 sittings over the years.

“The digital age has taken some of our business away, and there are a lot more photographers than there used to be,” Jerry Avey said.

“We’ve enjoyed working with people – it’s been a real joy to help create memories,” he added.

The Aveys plan to travel and continue photography as a recreational hobby.
