Boulder VC hotbed among small cities

 

BOULDER – Outside the U.S. major markets, Boulder ranks atop the list of attracting private equity deals a recent report states.

The report, conducted by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City from 2003 to August 2005, was cited in a recent Federal Reserve Bank of Boston newsletter. 

According to the report, 13 percent of all venture capital deals and 20 percent of investment dollars goes to smaller secondary cities, defined as cities outside the 40 largest U.S. metropolitan statistical areas.
