Boulder County Business Hall of Fame seeks 2007 nominations

LONGMONT – The Boulder County Business Hall of Fame has started its search for the class of 2007.
The organization is accepting nominations of people in the business community who exemplify business, cultural and philanthropic initiatives that serve as the foundation of the communities that make up Boulder County.

The induction ceremony for the class of 2007 will be Thursday, May 3, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Longmont, the new home of the hall of fame. The hall previously was housed at the Millennium Harvest House in Boulder.

Fred Kreider, director of the hall of fame, said inductees are businesspeople who, in addition to their outstanding business accomplishments, have and in some instances, continue to give generously of their time and talent as volunteers, contributors and leaders.

The Boulder County Business Hall of Fame was established in 1992 to recognize and honor businessmen and businesswomen who personify “business at its best,” and have provided direction, energy and support in shaping Boulder County over the last 150 years. Since 1992, 104 people have received this award.

Vicki Trumbo, president of the hall’s board of directors, said, “The board feels passionately about this opportunity to recognize the extraordinary contributions of the business leaders throughout Boulder County who truly make this such a special place to live and work.”

In addition, the hall of fame awards a scholarship each year to two deserving students attending the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business.

The Boulder County Business Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center through the Susan M. Pratt Foundation, Millennium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder, Heritage Bank, Boulder County Business Report, Daily Times-Call, Marty, Lyle, Doty and Jones LLC, Elevations Credit Union, Amgen, Wells Fargo Bank, Tebo Development, LJD Enterprises, US Bank, Ron’s Printing, Colorado Leeds School of Business, First National Bank of Colorado, Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, Avista Adventist Hospital, Danny’s Video Services and Key Equipment Finance.

Kreider said the hall is seeking additional sponsors and is offering many options for participation and recognition of those who support the hall of fame.
