Landscapers treat patio design as work of art

When Elizabeth Garfield needed more landscaping after building an addition to her house, she hired a landscape architect who created a new patio within an existing garden.

In 2000 Garfield and Candice Dickinson rehired Catherine Schweiger, a landscape architect and contractor who owns Catherine Schweiger & Associates Inc. in Boulder. They previously had used her services in 1997. Schweiger created a patio using brick and flagstone and surrounded it with a combination of shrubs, roses and perennials. It also has a low sitting wall made of brick and a sandstone top.
