Assimilation of Lucent team went smoothly

BOULDER — To financial observers, the ease with which Boulder-based Intrado Inc. assimilated the wireless 911 division of Lucent Technologies may seem extraordinary. But to Intrado co-founder George Heinrichs, it was just good business and a bit of good timing.

“Lucent had just reorganized that division almost perfectly (to fit within the Intrado corporation),” Heinrichs said. “I think a lot of it was just serendipitous. It was a very unique combination of the (corporate structures), because there was very little overlap. So there were no turf wars.”
