BBB’s new online symbol gives consumers confidence in Web sites

At the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau the push is on in 1998 to extend its services to the electronic superhighway.

Beginning last year the BBB developed its so-called OnLine Symbol of Credibility, a logo members may add to a Web site identifying themselves with long-standing BBB ideals.

“(The logo) gives consumers confidence,´ said Dan Reed, Denver/Boulder BBB membership coordinator.

World Wide Web watchdog organizations are not new, and there are nearly a dozen companies offering services ranging from company background reports to fielding complaints about services and/or products…
