News: First Security adds branch in Fort Collins

A holding company that owns banks in Fort Lupton and Windsor soon will enter the Fort Collins market. Pinnacle Bancorp of Central City, Neb., is opening a branch of its Fort Lupton bank, First Security Bank, at 300 Horsetooth Road. The branch willfocus on the needs of small businesses. “We’re going to be a niche bank tailored to small entrepreneurial customers and small-business customers,´ said Mark Kross, a vice president ofPinnacle Bancorp. “Our specialty will be one of traditional commercial real estate financing.” Kross will become branch manager of the Fort Collins branch. Additionally, representatives of Pinnacle will relocate to Fort Collins from the Windsorbank, called Bank of Colorado – Front Range, at 501 Main St. The branch should be open by mid-September. Pinnacle Bancorp is a multistate bank holding company. It has approximately 20 bank charters with about 50 locations. The Fort Lupton bank,
capitalized at approximately $30 million, also has branches in Julesburg, Holyoke, Sterling, Fort Morgan, Brush, Yuma and Akron. Eventually all of Pinnacle’s holdings in Colorado will become branches of one central bank, but that likely will take about two years to complete.
Among other benefits, that move would provide name continuity, and all of Pinnacle’s operations here would be know as Bank of Colorado. “We certainly will consider other opportunities to expand in Fort Collins,” Kross said. Approximately eight employees will work at the new branch. In addition to commercial lending, cash-management products and on-line banking will
be offered. Dan Eckles and Tricia Diehl of Realtec Commercial Real Estate Services Inc. helped locate the new 2,066-square-foot location. Peter Kast of Kast
Real Estate Services Inc. had listed the space.
