Business Report expands coverage to southern Wyo.

The Northern Colorado Business Report has expanded into Wyoming.

The monthly business newspaper has been focused on northern Adams, Larimer and Weld counties in Colorado but now will include Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyo., in its coverage and circulation.”Expansion to Wyoming is just one more manifestation of the growth we’ve enjoyed from day one,´ said co-publisher and editor Christopher Wood. “We’ve seen very, very strong gains in advertising, and we believe substantial potential exists to continue that growth through first-class coverage of both Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. The Wyoming expansion includes publication of a Wyoming edition, to be known simply as The Business Report. Although content of both the Colorado and Wyoming editions will be virtually identical, the Wyoming version at times will give greater play to stories from that state.
Additionally, Cheyenne and Laramie economic statistics will be added to the Business Report’s “Databank” features, and Wyoming businesses will be interwoven into the Business Report’s coverage.
“We’ve had sections planned on Cheyenne and Laramie ever since we launched this paper last fall,” Wood said. “Now, with the growth we’ve seen in Northern Colorado, we believe it’s time to take our brand of business journalism farther north on a regular basis.”
As part of its expansion, the Business Report has added veteran journalist Dennis E. Curran to its cadre of freelance writers. Curran, a Cheyenne resident, has served as Cheyenne correspondent for the Associated Press, and as press secretary to former Gov. Mike Sullivan.
Curran will write regularly on Wyoming business, contributing both breaking news stories and in-depth analysis of industries and business trends. Additionally, he’ll provide a column on Wyoming legislative issues of interest to business, complementing one already featured on the Colorado Legislature.
“We’re thrilled to bring Denny into our fold,” Wood said. “He brings a high level of credibility to our Wyoming venture and will provide us with solid business journalism, which we feel has been a hallmark of our growth in Northern Colorado.”
