Safeway, Albertsons set to hire hundreds in region

Two months after Safeway announced it was closing nine stores in the Denver area for underperformance, it and Albertson’s now say they’re hiring in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley.

Albertson’s parent Cerberus Capital Management purchased Safeway for $9.2 billion earlier this year. In May, Safeway announced the Colorado closures, but none of the local stores slated to close were local.
