Entrance and use permits are required for Horsetooth Reservoir, Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir, Pinewood Reservoir, Ramsay-Shockey Open Space, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space and Hermit Park Open Space.
At the moment, annual permit prices for vehicles and boats are $65 for Larimer County residents and $85 for non-Larimer County residents. Permits are not transferable among vehicles and are valid for one calendar year.
Under the proposed changes, permit prices would increase to $75 for Larimer County residents and $95 for visitors to the county. Also, non-motorized, non-registered vehicles such as canoes and kayaks would no longer require a permit.
The changes would also discontinue a requirement that there must be separate permits for more than one vehicle on a trailer. Permits will also be valid for an entire year from the date of purchase and will be transferable among vehicles in the same household.
The Larimer County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the subject at 6:30 p.m. June 11 at 200 W. Oak St. in Fort Collins.
