HiViz Shooting Systems finalizing move from Fort Collins to Laramie

FORT COLLINS — HiViz Shooting Systems has nearly completed its departure from Fort Collins to Laramie, Wyo.

HiViz, a manufacturer of fiber-optic gun sights, will complete the move within the next two weeks from 1941 Heath Parkway in Fort Collins to 620 S. Adams St. in Laramie, a spokesman told BizWest on Friday.

HiViz announced in 2013 it would move, joining Magpul Industries Corp., a firearms and ammunition company that moved operations from Erie, Colo. to the former Jeld-Wen manufacturing plant in Cheyenne, Wyo., because of stricter gun laws passed in Colorado in 2013.

Howe said Laramie also was chosen because of Wyoming’s tax advantages for the business and its employees, the various resources available through the University of Wyoming and a favorable location with a beautiful view of the Snowy Range mountains to the west.
