Erie to pay $400,000 for dirt to fill Prince Reservoir, prep for development
The Erie board of trustees on Tuesday approved the $400,000 purchase of dirt that will be used to fill Prince Reservoir to ready the site for commercial development.
The Times-Call reports that trustee Mark Gruber said he and other city officials have met with four retailers interested in locating stores at the site, which sits at the southeast corner of Highway 287 and Arapahoe Road.
Erie’s interest in developing the land has been a point of contention between Erie and the city of Lafayette, the town whose northern border sits adjacent to the site.
