Encana notifies Erie of new drilling operations

Encana Corporation (NYSE: ECA) will commence drilling operations at the Pratt location and the Waste Connections location both in Weld County, according to Wendy Wiedenbeck, spokeswoman of Encana.

The operation at the Pratt location will start during the week of Nov. 3, she said.

The Town of Erie was also notified that “Encana will monitor mud and dust and mitigate it as needed, and adjust lights away from homes and maintain the approved access for this location, according to a statement from the town.

“The closest residential building from the Pratt location is over 700 feet away,” she said.

“We will have six wells on the Pratt well pad. This is the only pad that’s active now, but we will have another pad,” she said.

In fact, Encana is currently constructing the Waste Connections well pad in Weld County, according to Wiedenbeck.

“Initial activity will include the use of heavy equipment. During this phase, you can expect to see land clearing, grading and road construction. Water trucks will be on location to control dust. Once this task is complete, the site will be ready for the drilling rig,” according to Wiedenbeck.

The Waste Connections location is expected to start by the end of the year.
