Duplex development eyed for Broomfield

BROOMFIELD – A plan for a 60-unit age-restricted community in southwest Broomfield is scheduled to be reviewed tonight, Jan. 15, by the Broomfield City Council.

Taylor Morrison Inc., a Scottsdale, Arizona-based homebuilder, will present a concept plan for a 10.7-acre community, which it wants to build near Great Western Reservoir and the intersection of West 112th Avenue and Simms Street. The area surrounding the community is mostly undeveloped.

Plans filed with the Broomfield Planning Department envision 60 homes built in 30 duplex units. The estimated value of the new buildings is $8 million.
