Boulder developers plan new mixed-use project near Steel Yards
A pair of Boulder development firms are teaming up on a proposed project that would bring a pair of four-story commercial buildings to the area just east of the Steel Yards development.
The Daily Camera reports that Morgan Creek Ventures and Coburn Partners have submitted concept plans to the city of Boulder for The Commons, which would sit between 33rd Street and the railroad tracks. The development would include a pair of buildings, one 55,000 square feet in size and the other 46,000 square feet, that would include a mix of uses such as restaurants and office space for startups.
The piece of land sits in a booming area of town. Just to the south is the Depot Square development that includes a Hyatt Place hotel and bus rapid transit station. To the north is the planned Sutherland Park development that would be built on the site of the former Sutherland’s lumber yard and other adjacent sites.
