Boulder County still has 5.7% jobless rate

DENVER – The statewide unemployment rate fell one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.9 percent in October, and Boulder County remains the urban county with the lowest unemployment rate, according to a report released Tuesday by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

Colorado’s unemployment rate is now equal to the national unemployment rate, the department said. In October 2011, Colorado’s unemployment rate was 8.1 percent, and the national rate was 8.9 percent.

In Boulder County, the unemployment rate remained level at 5.7 percent, which was the best of any well-populated county in the state.
