Bank of Colorado rolling out ‘Interactive Teller Machines’ in NoCo

LOVELAND — Bank of Colorado has begun rolling out new ITMs that allow customers to chat live via a video feed with a bank teller who works at a remote site.

The Fort Collins-based bank’s first ATM Live-Interactive Teller Machine, or ITM, is in the lobby at 204 E. 4th St. in downtown Loveland.

The bank plans to roll out 10 more this year, including one in Paonia the week of July 11, followed by one in Windsor, according to bank spokeswoman Jill Marvin.

In preparation for Republic Services becoming the primary provider of residential recycling, yard trimmings, and trash, residents should now select the best cart size and service schedule for their household needs.

Initially, customers will be talking live with a teller in Texas, but soon will be connected with a teller in Fort Collins, Marvin said.

The ITM in Loveland has been operating for the past two weeks, but the bank waited until July 5 to make the announcement to “get the bugs worked out,” Marvin said. The bank will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new ITM at noon, Tuesday, July 12.

Bank of Colorado has a branch bank at 1888 W. Eisenhower Blvd. in Loveland. Michael Bellus, branch president in Loveland, said the ITM provides “enhanced services to downtown Loveland.”

The ITM is activated with a driver’s license. When connected to a live teller, an ATM card or a personal identification number is not required. The live teller function will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. It also can be used as a standard ATM machine.

“We expect the ATM Live interactive teller machines will be an outstanding tool for our customers and the future of banking,” said Shawn Osthoff, president of Bank of Colorado.
