Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC is pleased to announce that Mark Hamilton has joined the firm. Mark brings over 34 years of experience in corporate tax law, tax planning, and tax controversy matters, advising corporations, partnerships, and individuals on federal, international, and state and local tax issues.
His practice encompasses tax-efficient transaction structuring — including acquisitions, spin-offs, and internal restructurings — as well as securing favorable IRS rulings. Hamilton also spent two years in Stockholm as European Tax Counsel, lending a strong international dimension to his practice.
Hamilton holds an LL.M. in Taxation from DePaul University, a J.D. and B.S. in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. He is admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court, the 10th Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court, and is a member of the Colorado, Alaska, and Illinois bars. He is active in the Tax Sections of the Colorado, Alaska, and American Bar Associations.
