Regina Dvorak – Corporate Volunteer of the Year

Regina Dvorak has a reputation you can stand on. That old adage proves true not only for her role in design, sales and project management at Graham’s Flooring & Design in Loveland, but also for the foundation she builds volunteering for nonprofits in the region.

A Fort Collins native, Dvorak earned a bachelor’s degree in culinary nutrition and an associate’s degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University. She spent time in Anguilla in the Caribbean and in Alaska, as well as the Providence/Boston area before eventually returning to Fort Collins.

That call to return home was accompanied by a desire to give back to the communities of Northern Colorado. Dvorak devotes time to numerous nonprofits and community initiatives, including Loveland/Berthoud Meals on Wheels, Loveland Habitat for Humanity and Loveland-Berthoud Association of Realtors. She serves as an ambassador for the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, and even makes bagged lunches for meetings of the Women’s Council of Realtors, Northern Colorado chapter. She also prepares gift baskets and auction items for nonprofit fundraisers.

“It’s just something that I love to do,” Dvorak said of her volunteerism. “I can’t always pay the money to support the organization, so, instead, volunteering is something I can absolutely do, and it’s free. It just takes my time.

“Usually, that’s the reason why it starts,” she added. “I can’t donate thousands of dollars, so, therefore, what can I do to volunteer my time, and what kind of things am I good at that can help the organization.”

Dvorak’s  enthusiasm was cited by a nominator for the Community Builder Awards:

“Regina is a bundle of pure enthusiasm,” the nominator wrote. “She gives her time and energy endlessly in the community. She is known among all citizens as the positive force at Graham’s -— and dedicated volunteer for countless non-profits and community initiatives.”
