One dead after fire breaks out on Weld County oil well
WELD COUNTY – One oil worker is dead after a fire broke out in a Weld County oil rig last night.
The Denver Post reports firefighters were called to a site east of Windsor around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night to respond to a fire, which they extinguished at around 10 p.m. Authorities found a man unresponsive at the top of the site’s oil tank, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Great Western Oil and Gas Co. owns the well and confirmed the victim worked for the company.
