Crestone oil and gas project in Erie indefinitely postponed
ERIE — Plans by Crestone Peak Resources to drill 140 oil and gas wells north of Erie have been put on hold indefinitely following a lawsuit from Boulder County.
The decision to postpone the project was made Thursday by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, according to a Longmont Times-Call report.
Crestone planned to drill five well pads on three sites along Colo. 52.
A hearing on that proposal, which was initially scheduled for later this month, will be delayed until Boulder County’s lawsuit and any subsequent appeals are adjudicated.
