Denver attorney, EDC member appointed to Public Utilities Commission

Gov. John Hickenlooper has appointed a Denver attorney and member of the Colorado Economic Development Commission to serve as part of the three-member Colorado Public Utility Commission.

The Denver Business Journal reports that Frances Koncilja, founder of the law firm Koncilja & Associates, will replace Pamela Patton. The appointment requires approval by the Colorado Senate. Patton’s term expires this month.

Koncilja would join PUC chairman Joshua Epel and Glenn Vaad on the PUC, with Vaad being the lone Republican on the commission.
