The Fort Collins Local Development Company presented awards to four local business people for their service in providing low-interest loans to renovate Old Town and other Fort Collins businesses. Cary Hewitt of The Cupboard, Dave Veldman and Mitch Morgan of Veldman Morgan Commercial and Joe Zahn of Construction Lending Services received this honor during the organization?s monthly meeting.

Dunnigan, whose office is located at the Home State Bank in Loveland, has received honors as a top representative for 18 consecutive years.

Brian Boltz recently joined Bank of Colorado in Fort Collins as the retail service manager. Previously, Boltz was branch manger for Wells Fargo Financial Acceptance in Aurora. Boltz earned a bachelor?s degree in business administration from Colorado State University.

The International Franchise Association recently honored four Colorado franchise small business owners at its annual convention in Las Vegas. The honorees were Peter and Kathy Beinetti of Colorado Springs for Bark Busters and Terry and Kathy Stokes of Steamboat Springs for PostNet International. The honor is given to those who have helped build their brand?s credibility and reputation of excellence among customers.

Fort Collins-based Creative Career Connections recently added Michael E. Duncan as CEO. Duncan, with a bachelor?s degree in engineering from the University of Swansea, Wales, will handle daily operations as well as business development for recruiting and outsourcing contracts.

Patina Oil & Gas Corp. elected Jon R. Whitney to its board of directors. Whitney, retired president and CEO of Colorado Interstate Gas Company, received a bachelor?s degree in accounting summa cum laude from Colorado State University.

Loveland resident Becky Due recently released her first novel, ?The Gentleman?s Club.? The novel chronicles the life of a sexually abused and assaulted woman. Due plans to donate a percentage of novel sales to Alternatives To Violence.

Fort Collins-based author Debra Benton recently joined the media travel team for General Abizaid in Iraq and Afghanistan. Benton, an executive coach and international speaker on executive effectiveness, wrote the best-selling books ?How to Think Like a CEO? and ?Executive Charisma.? She was invited on the trip by the U.S. Central Command in the Middle East.

Good Shepherd Communities promoted Jennifer Oxley of Littleton to regional director for GSC?s Rocky Mountain region. Oxley spent the past eight months acting as interim regional director before officially assuming the role on March 1. Good Shepherd Communities is a Christian-focused ministry serving people with developmental disabilities and other related conditions.

The Loveland Sweet Talkers Toastmaster Club recently selected Chrys Withrow and Jennifer Bick as its speech contest winners. Withrow won the international speech contest, and Bick won the table topic contest. Also honored were Rhonda McDonnell and Sophie Waghorn for their completion of the educational requirements for the Advanced Toastmaster Silver achievement.

The National Federation of Independent Business presented Gail Lindley, owner of Denver Bookbinding Company Inc., with the Small-Business Champion award. Lindley has been a governing member of the federation since 1988.

The Larimer County Bar Association awarded Robert W. Brandes, Jr. its professionalism award. Brandes is a shareholder in the law firm of Myatt Brandes & Gast PC in Fort Collins.

In Wyoming, the Cheyenne LEADS membership elected three new board members. Sharon Radomicki is president and owner of Laramie County Abstract & Title Co. Barry Sims is senior vice president and CFO for Taco John?s International Inc. Bob Strasheim is a founding partner in Mechanical Systems Inc.

The board of directors of Owens-Illinois Inc. appointed Steven R. McCracken as president and CEO. McCracken spent 30 years at DuPont prior to joining Owens-Illinois. Terry L. Wilkison and Thomas L. Young served as co-CEOs since January. McCracken has a bachelor?s in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Ed McKeever has joined Allnutt Funeral Service-Macy Chapel in Greeley as its managing director. McKeever was previously associated with funeral homes in Greeley, Lamar and Holly and was a deputy for the Prowers County Coroner?s Office.

Victoria D Ippolito and Jennifer DeGrand of the Employer Source in Loveland each gained OSHA 10-hour certification. This certification signifies proficiency and detailed knowledge to train employees in protecting themselves from hazards, recognizing common hazards and how to mitigate those hazards on a construction site.

The International Economic Development Council designated Leah Bruscino as a certified economic developer. Bruscino is the northwest regional director for the Wyoming Business Council and has eight years of economic development experience.
