Broomfield printing company prints, spreads word
BROOMFIELD – In the logo for Trinity Worldwide Reprographics Inc., the capital “T” resembles a cross. That’s because Trinity, a full-service printing company, is also a ministry.
“Our mission is to promote Christ through our business,´ said Ben Sandberg, Broomfield store manager.
“We’re a copy shop, and we have to make profits in business like everyone else, but our main mission is to be a ministry.”

Trinity Worldwide Reprographics Inc. is based in California, where it has three stores. The Broomfield location, which opened in July 2005, is the first store outside of California, and is the start of a nationwide expansion effort.
The Broomfield store is a fully functional copy shop and uses equipment at the California stores to complete other print jobs. The Broomfield store transfers files to the California offices where they are printed and then shipped back to Colorado. It’s more cost-effective than having the same equipment in every office, Sandberg said.
Trinity provides a range of printing services, including full-color offset, large format and promotional item printing as well as design and finishing services. One of its signature pieces of equipment is a Ryobi offset digital press capable of doing high-quality offset printing at an affordable price.
With its direct-to-press technology, the setup time is drastically reduced, reducing the customer’s fee. As a result, Trinity can print both low- and high-quantity full-color print jobs at lower prices than traditional offset presses. And it’s digital, so the print quality is superior to most other presses, Sandberg said.
Although some customers are turned off by the cross, the company has grown exponentially each year since it incorporated three years ago. He said for many, it comes down to getting the job done at a good price.
Trinity operates as a regular business, but with religion as a piece of its operations. There are weekly voluntary Bible studies and prayer. The company also supports other ministries by donating or discounting print services.
Companywide, Trinity donates around $500,000 each year to churches across the country. As a for-profit business, Trinity is careful to stay within the legal guidelines and hires employees without regard to their religious affiliation.
Because of its logo, people ask if Trinity is a Christian company. That allows us to share, Sandberg said. Being a Christian company means it also follows a set of standards for how Christian businesses should act.
“We are sitting in front of them (our customers) with a cross on our shirt, and we have to represent that,” Sandberg said.
Trinity’s quality and service has been one reason Harper Design Inc. in Denver has continued to work with the company. According to Partner Mark Harper, religion did not play a role in the decision. “I think more importantly than whatever their beliefs are, is the integrity and honesty with which they handle themselves,” Harper said. “You can tell they are very honest people, and the values they represent are very honorable.”
For others like Hope’s Promise Adoption Agency, Trinity’s Christian foundation sets the company apart. “We were drawn to the fact that they are a Christian organization and promote a ministry as we do,´ said Brooke Freeman, a caseworker with the agency.
Locally Trinity serves Anheuser-Busch in Fort Collins, Kaiser Permanente in Boulder and Jamba Juice, as well as several other local customers. It has clients as far north as Fort Collins and as far south as Colorado Springs.
The parent company’s largest clients are schools and universities because they need items year-round and typically need them in a large volume. Trinity works with several universities in California including the University of Southern California, University of California Los Angeles and California State University. Sandberg has not landed a Colorado university yet, but he is working to do so.
If he can, it will definitely grow the business. “If you land two large colleges, it pretty much guarantees 24-hour copy running,” Sandberg said.
As it is now, business at the Broomfield location is growing, and Sandberg expects to start making a profit within two months. He has a team of four employees but expects to be hiring more. Once he has established substantial business and achieved substantial profits at the Broomfield location, Sandberg would like to explore opening more stores in Colorado.
