Allegiant Air to take off on July 31

LOVELAND – Beginning July 31, area residents will be able to fly to Las Vegas without a lengthy drive to Denver International Airport, compliments of Allegiant Air.

Beginning today, commuters should be able to confirm their reservations for Allegiant flights that will operate from the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport.

Initially the airline will fly to Las Vegas on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays using a 161-seat MD-83 aircraft on the route.

Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based airline, announced in May that it would bring limited commuter service to the Front Range.

Allegiant is offering $69 one-way introductory fares to Las Vegas for customers who book by June 30 and travel by November 17. Also, customers who book their travel online at www.allegiantair.com will receive an additional $2.50 off each flight segment.

Regular one-way fares on the route range in price from $89 to $159.

The Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal airport is the third Colorado airport from which Allegiant operates scheduled flights to Las Vegas. The company already operates out of Colorado Springs and will add flights from DIA starting July 3.

“We welcome Allegiant Air and the return of commercial airline service here in northern Colorado,´ said Dave Gordon, manager of the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport. “Service to Las Vegas will be very convenient; it will allow area travelers to connect to many other destinations and will also enable direct travel to northern Colorado for friends, family and businesses.

“Allegiant’s commercial service will help make the airport eligible for federal funding and move it toward becoming financially self-sufficient,” Gordon said.
