Martinez picked to mayoral board

FORT COLLINS – Fort Collins Mayor Ray Martinez has been selected to serve on the Advisory Board of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The conference is the official, non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. It seeks to strengthen federal-city relationships and promote the development of federal policies that meet urban needs.

“(Mayor Martinez’s) presence and experience will help ensure that the conference continues to advocate aggressively and successfully for the key priorities facing U.S. cities,´ said James Garner, President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

“Communities across the nation are facing numerous challenges, and now more than ever, it is important that we look for ways to work together and learn from one another,” Martinez said in a prepared statement. “I am pleased to represent the interests of Fort Collins as the advisory board tackles these challenges.”
