14 businesses to receive flood-recovery grants

ESTES PARK – Fourteen small businesses in Estes Park and the Big Thompson Canyon will receive $347,400 in grants to assist with recovery from the September floods.

The funds will be distributed from the United Way of Larimer County’s Small Business Recovery Fund. This marks the third and final round of grants awarded through the fund.

The money will be awarded during a ceremony to be held May 27 at Estes Park Museum, at 200 Fourth St.

The fund was initiated through a partnership of the Bohemian Foundation, Blue Ocean Enterprises and the Richardson Foundation. The Richardson Foundation and Blue Ocean created a dollar-for-dollar corporate fundraising challenge match of up to $500,000 and the Bohemian Foundation initiated and seeded the fund with $250,000.

Inn of Glenhaven, $25,000
Patterson Glassworks Studio and Gallery, $10,500
Red Rose Rock Shop, $50,000
Riverspoine Spa, $27,500
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, $15,600
Rocky Mountain Memories, $20,000
Rustic River Cabins, $25,300
Serendipity Trading Co., $15,000
Sterling Pony, $13,000
Tiny Town Texaco Inc., $41,000
Village Goldsmith Inc., $25,000
White Elk’s Visions in Glass, $30,000

A total of $1.7 million was given to businesses from the fund.
