It’s all about getting outta town

You know how hard it is to go on vacation. You have to have someone cover for you at work, take care of the dog, bring in the mail, pick up the newspapers in the driveway. And when you get back, there’s usually more to do than you have extra energy left over from your break to tackle. That’s why most Americans don’t take all the time off they are entitled to each year.

I’m proud to say that this is just one more area in which the Northern Colorado Business Report is above average – we use it before we lose it. Some of the exotic vacation destinations for the staff this year include Costa Rica, Ireland and the ever-popular southern Indiana.

But I’m beginning to wonder if the universe is trying to tell me something. First, Frontier Airlines files Chapter 11 three weeks before I take off for St. Louis – and three weeks after I decided to finally buy stock at $3.50 a share. Still flying — and running the cute talking-animal TV commercials again — just delisted.

Then my final destination is rocked by a 5.2-magnitude earthquake this morning, just after the flood waters had receded.

These things usually come in threes, don’t they? I’ll let you know.
