KUNC purchases Eagle County station
GREELEY – KUNC radio in Greeley has reached an agreement to purchase a new radio station to serve Eagle County at 90.7 FM. The agreement with Cedar Cove Broadcasting Inc. will allow KUNC’s broadcast signal to be heard across Eagle County.
“The new station will also provide a signal feed to our translator at 99.7 FM, allowing us for the first time to have a consistent broadcast signal from Castle Peak,´ said Neil Best, KUNC general manager, in announcing the deal. “Completion of this project is the culmination of our commitment to deliver a consistently high-quality signal that will match the quality of our programming.”
The new station will be called KVNC, pending approval of the call letters by the Federal Communications Commission. It will be licensed in Minturn and broadcast from Dowd Junction. The new station will broadcast the same National Public Radio shows and locally produced diverse music programming that KUNC offers along the Front Range from its studio in Greeley.
