Powertech public meetings

FORT COLLINS — Although Powertech Uranium Corp.’s planned Centennial in-situ mining project is planned for land in Weld County near Nunn, the issue is receiving a fair amount of attention in Larimer County as well.

A panel discussion is set for tonight, Jan. 14, at the Harmony Library, 4616 S. Shields St. in Fort Collins. Members of the panel include representatives from Powertech, Coloradoans Against Resource Destruction, the Colorado Environmental Coalition, Janet Johnson, Thomas Johnson and other scientists.

The discussion, which will allow time for questions from the audience, is set for 6 to 9 p.m.

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners set Monday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. for a public meeting concerning the Centennial Project in the Hearing Room of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building, 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins. The meeting will also be televised and streamed on the Internet.
