Human Bean raises $67K for cancer care

FORT COLLINS — Human Bean Northern Colorado raised $67,569.08 during its 21st annual Coffee for a Cure on Oct. 16, with proceeds donated to local nonprofits’ cancer-care programs.

All 11 Human Bean Northern Colorado drive-thru locations donated 100% of their sales for the day to provide financial assistance for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and other cancers.

Representatives from Banner Health and UCHealth served as guest baristas at each location, enabling customers to ask questions and make cash donations.

“We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that comes together to make such a meaningful difference,” Frank Sherman, owner of Human Bean Northern Colorado, said in a written statement.

Funds raised will be divided equally between the UCHealth Foundation and the North Colorado Medical Center Breast Cancer Fund.

With this latest fundraiser, Coffee for a Cure has raised more than $814,500 for local cancer patients over 21 years.
