If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Don’t rush to have it all figured out. The path isn’t straight and that’s ok. Continue to invest in yourself early and often, take the training and celebrate the success while learning from missteps. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and not those who drain you. Most importantly, give yourself grace.
Who do you count as your greatest mentor(s) that have helped you succeed in your personal and professional life?
Travis Thornton- Travis and I worked together for 11 years and he helped me learn the ropes in Banking. He took a chance on me when I was very green in my career. He was instrumental in my career and we made a great team. Travis was my biggest advocate and we had a mutual interest in making sure that we grew the balance sheet together.
Where do you see yourself and what will you be doing with your life after 40?
I have recently accepted a Director of Finance role with an engineering consulting company. I am aiming to be the Chief Financial Officer. Personally, I’m excited to watch my children enter grade school.
