Weld County approves solar project on ag land

Louisville-based Clean Energy Collective this week received approval for a 12.5-acre community solar garden on agricultural land near Platteville.

The Greeley Tribune reports that the Weld County commissioners approved a special use permit to allow “more intense uses” that the property’s current zoning allows. The approval comes just a couple of weeks after Weld officials scrapped solar regulations that would have prohibited solar installations on land zoned agricultural.
