Nominations open for Boulder County Business Hall of Fame Awards

BOULDER —Nominations of outstanding business leaders that shape our community are being accepted for the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame until Jan. 29, 2016.

The Boulder County Hall of Fame board of directors are looking for names of those from the past and present whose business efforts have resulted in community-wide economic, social or cultural benefits to Boulder County and its citizens. Nominations can be submitted at www.halloffamebiz.com.

Nominations will be evaluated by the board based on favorable impact on the community, notable business innovations, corporate philanthropic activities, and business and civic achievements.

The candidates for this distinguished award will be announced in mid-February. The new honorees will be saluted and inducted to the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame at a luncheon attended by interested members of the business community on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Plaza Convention Center in Longmont. Plaques with photos of the honorees will be permanently displayed in the reception area of the Plaza Convention Center along with more than 170 alumni inducted since 1993.

The Hall of Fame will also be donating scholarships to deserving students at the CU Leeds School of Business at the luncheon. In 2012-2014, four scholarships totaling $10,000 were presented.

The 2015 Boulder County Hall of Fame Honorees included Richard Barrett, founder of Leasetec Corporation, Principal of St. Julien Hotel and Spa; Tom Brock, Founder and CEO, Brock Media Company; Percy and Carolyn Conarroe, Former Owners, Louisville Times/Lafayette News/Erie Review; Lynda Snyder Crockett, Owner, Snyder Jewelers; David Brown, David Cohen, Brad Feld and Jared Polis, Techstars; Wallace Grant, Senior Counsel, Lyons Gaddis Kahn Hall Jeffers Dworak & Grant PC.; and Dale Katechis, Owner, Oskar Blues.
