California restaurant mogul buys Super 8 motel in Longmont

LONGMONT — The chief executive and founder of a California restaurant franchisee company paid $4.7 million recently to buy the Super 8 hotel at 2446 N. Main St. in Longmont.

Aurora based Choi’s Hospitality sold the 64-room hotel to SFL LLC, an entity formed by WKS Restaurant Group CEO Roland Spongberg and a business partner.

Spongberg, who also owns a Quality Inn by Choice hotel in Ogallala, Neb., said his plan is to continue operating the Longmont hotel, with plans to renovate all of the guest rooms.
