Colorado orders man to halt solicitation of pot securities

A Colorado man who had been soliciting investors for a marijuana-based business on Craigslist was ordered to stop Thursday by the Colorado Division of Securities.

The Denver Business Journal reports that state securities commissioner Gerald Rome sent a cease and desist order to Ryan M. Quinn “stipulating that he can no longer illegally solicit investments for a marijuana business in Colorado.”

Quinn had been hosting ads in April and May offering unregistered securities and had been doing so without a license to sell securities.
