Vestas earns $127M in 3Q

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (OMX: VWS) earned $126.8 million during the third quarter, swinging from a $108.2 million loss during the same period a year earlier.

Vestas posted revenue of $2.3 billion during the period, up from $1.8 billion during the third quarter of last year.
Vestas saw 1,170 megawatts in wind turbine orders during the third quarter, a decrease of 24 percent compared with the third quarter of 2013. However, its year-to-date turbine order intake rose by 458 megawatts, an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period last year.

Vestas also updated its estimated revenue for this year to $8 billion to $8.7 billion, up from a previous estimate of $7.5 billion.
