Innosphere lands $100K clean-tech grant from Wells Fargo

Fort Collins-based incubator Innosphere announced Tuesday that it has received a $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo bank to help support its clean-tech program geared toward startups in the energy, water and transportation sectors.

Innosphere operates out of three locations in Fort Collins as well as a new office in Denver and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden.

The 13 clean-tech companies Innosphere supported during 2013 had revenue of nearly $8 million. The incubator currently has a roster of 10 clean-tech companies it’s working within the region.

“Given the talent coming out of the University of Colorado, Colorado State University and Colorado School of Mines, combined with the emerging technologies coming out of NREL, this is an ideal time to incubate Cleantech startups through Innosphere’s incubator model that focuses on mentoring, capital, strategy and growth,” Innosphere Mike Freeman said in a press statement. “Wells Fargo has a nationally recognized support program for clean technology and their investment is a vote of confidence that our Cleantech program is headed in the right direction.”
