Zayo announces 1Gig connectivity for startup incubator
For startups operating out of Galvanize, the rollout means all of the bandwidth they need and more to carry out their high-tech operations on a daily basis.
“Bandwidth is like oxygen to startups,” Galvanize co-founder and chief executive Jim Deters said in a press release. “It’s absolutely critical to a company’s success. Many of our members have teams working on multiple campuses. Creating a world-class infrastructure to support the communication and connectivity between members and across campuses is part of our mission.”
As part of the deal between Boulder-based Zayo and Denver-based Galvanize, the two companies said they’ll also be hosting tech-focused events to build relationships with emerging startups and tech talent across the country.
“The digital ecosystem is a critical ingredient to a vibrant tech startup and learning environment,” Zayo president of sales and marketing Chris Morley said. “We believe our services will enable the success of Galvanize members as well as provide us early exposure to early technology leaders who may become great long-term Zayo customers.”
Zayo Group last month filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission its intent for an initial public offering. Launched in 2007, the company has grown rapidly both in Colorado and globally with the acquisition of more than 30 companies.
