Colorado drilling rig count declines

The Denver-Julesburg Basin, which includes Northern Colorado, lost one rig this week, according to a report from Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI).

The basin ended the week with 50 rigs total. The Permian Basin, which includes territory in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, gained seven for a total of 451, the most of U.S. areas tracked by Baker Hughes.

Colorado’s rig count fell by three rigs to 70. Texas gained 9 rigs, the most of any state, for a total of 821.
