Investors fuel face-lift at Green Garage

BOULDER – Green Garage has raised $600,000 from existing investors to remodel and upgrade equipment at its new store at 2907 55th St., according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The 9,000-square-foot environmentally friendly car service company remains open while the remodel work is being done, said Steve Kirchner, president of the company, the trade name of Primoris Energy Solutions Inc.

A 1,000-square-foot Laughing Goat Coffeehouse shop is slated to open in the next month or so in leased space in the building, Kirchner said. Green Garage has been open since November in the former Carpet Outpost LLC building just south of the U.S. Postal Service location on the southwest corner of 55th Street and Valmont Road.

“We’re really excited about this space. It’s a great location for one of our stores,” Kirchner said. “There really is nothing else out here.”

Oil changes and new tires are the two most popular car services requested by Green Garage customers, Kirchner said. The store handles full maintenance and repair on all makes and models of vehicles.

Green Garage bought a local tire retailer, The Tire Source Inc., in mid-October to gain leverage buying and pricing car tires competitively with other retail chain tire stores, Ryan Ferraro, founder and chief executive of Green Garage, said at the time.

Green Garage plans to have a 5 percent market share in car service by 2019, with 95 percent of the stores to be franchises, Ferrero has said previously. Revenue figures have not been disclosed. About 65 percent of Green Garage customers are women, Ferrero has said.
