Local impact of Level 3’s job cuts unclear
The Broomfield-based telecommunications company (NYSE: LVLT) has cut “a very small percent of jobs” recently as it integrates Global Crossing into the company. Level 3 acquired Global Crossing in 2011 for $3 billion.
According to a press statement from a Level 3 spokesperson, the cuts mostly eliminated “redundant and duplicative positions.” The company is adding to its sales force.
Level 3 is Broomfield’s largest employer, with 2,068 employees, according to the Broomfield Economic Development Corp. After the merger, Level 3 had a total of approximately 10,900 employees worldwide, according…
