Three craft breweries based in Boulder County received medals at the 2012 European Beer Star Awards. Longmont-based Left Hand Brewing Co. won a gold medal in the sweet stout category. Dale’s Pale Ale, the signature product of Longmont-based Oskar Blues Brewery LLC, won a silver medal in the English-style pale ale category and a bronze in the Bohemian-style pilsner category for its Mama’s Little Yella Pils. Boulder-based Twisted Pine Brewing Co. won a bronze medal in the Baltic-style porter category for its Northstar Imperial Porter. The winners were announced Nov. 14 at the Brau Beviale beverage trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

Loren M. Brown of Donelson Ciancio & Grant LLC in Broomfield was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the Colorado Bar Association. Brown is a shareholder at Donelson Ciancio & Grant LLC’s office in Broomfield.

Boulder-based FreeWave Technologies Inc.’s machine-to-machine MM2wireless data radio received an M2M Evolution Product of the Year Award from TMC and Crossfire Media. The radio is 2 inches by 1.4 inches and weighs 14 grams. It is used by government and defense customers for a variety of purposes including the command and control of unmanned aerial systems.
